Please mark your calendars! UMC #Giving Tuesday is November 28, 2017.
On behalf of Child Action Initiative (CAI), Isaiah Njimbu Chot and ourselves thank you for supporting this mission to educate orphans and vulnerable children; help needy women and displaced people.
Your financial support is changing lives. Children are attending school, villagers are increasing their farming knowledge and able to sell some of their produce; improved nutrition ; some vocational school graduates started businesses such as masonry, community builder. Yvette Chot is teaching micro-business to women as well as sewing skills. A sewing workshop was started by 3 young ladies who completed sewing classes and have hired more young women.
CAI has had a positive impact on the community. Ten students graduated from high school this past year. These students are looking to go to college, learn job skills or look for other opportunities.
UMC #Giving Tuesday is part of an international movement to extend the spirit of giving thanks into the Advent season. It offers an opportunity to start the holiday season with giving instead of getting by supporting CAI. "Connect Your Passion with God's Mission".
100 percent of all gifts made through The Advance directly support CAI. Your donation is very important to the children of CAI. There are 100 children attending school from first to twelfth grades. It takes money to support these students including tuition, uniforms, shoes and socks, school supplies and lunches.
We are happy Levy Tshota Kayembe is attending Africa University in Zimbabwe thanks to a scholarship by Oak Ridge UMC, Oak Ridge, NC. Levy is a graduate of Child Action Initiative's education program.
None of these students would be attending school without your financial support.
